Maurice Chestnut

Mr. Chestnut has been a member of the renowned New Jersey Tap Ensemble for 15 years. A Newark native, Maurice received his early training at Newark Community School of the Arts. He has performed with Savion Glover and also at the Apollo (where he won Top Dog honors in 1998), and at Carnegie Hall’s TVC Jazz Festival. He was part of the national tour of Bring in Da Noise, Bring in Da Funk, and has appeared in numerous television shows including Jay Leno’s New Year’s Eve show and the NJN documentary Dance in New Jersey.
