What does a dance education offer a child?
A dance education is aimed at developing well-disciplined, intelligent, graceful-bodied and physically fit young people who may go on to professional careers or may choose to apply their dance education in other fields. Dance training develops discipline, concentration, alertness and body control, which aids in scholastic endeavors and personal growth. Carriage, body lines, coordination, grace, style, technique, artistry – the benefits that a dance education can bring are unlimited.
Whatever goals a student may have, correct instruction is an absolute necessity. It must never be sacrificed for speed-up methods or cut-rate charges. The risks are too great. Premature advancement based on some artificial timetable can exact a bitter price in malformation of bone and muscle which may never be corrected.
New Jersey School of Ballet holds classes in two convenient locations; Florham Park and Somerville. The locations have fully-equipped studios.
Proper dance attire, dance shoes and accessories are available in the Ballet Boutique, located at the Florham Park studios. Ballet themed gift items are also on sale. All proceeds benefit New Jersey Ballet Company, a non-profit 501 (c) 3 performing arts organization.
